| Abstract: |
| City events often refer to the sum of a series of important activities that
occur in a short period of time. Major sports events, world expos, international
conferences, and large-scale characteristic festivals can attract a large number
of people in a short period of time, create an "attention" economy, and become
"major events" that countries and cities compete to host. In the history of
modern urban development, every urban event is an important opportunity
for the city to change its appearance and turn around beautifully. Among
them, garden landscapes have also become an important carrier to showcase
urban taste, showcase urban culture, and connect the memories of citizens
and tourists. The 19th Asian Games was held in Hangzhou in 2023, which
prompted the Hangzhou Municipal Government to transform and enhance the
urban landscape. The Asian Flower Theme Park emerged in this context. After
multiple investigations and discussions, the flower garden was located adjacent
to Qianjiang Century Park in the Asian Games Village. Through the renovation
of the original park square and lawn, innovative explorations were made in the
overall layout and node design, creating a new urban garden that is recognized
by experts and welcomed by citizens. The plan is themed around "The Story of
Seeds" and designed based on regional characteristics. Seed Square is the first
node of the garden, expressing Hangzhou's historical culture and East Asian
elements through 6-meter-high bamboo pine cones. At night, the colorful lights
on the cones gradually change and project images, further enhancing the fun
and cultural significance; The Friendship Flower Gallery extracts the culture of
bamboo basket flower arrangement from the Southern Song Dynasty, expands
the bamboo basket into a bamboo gallery, and constructs a sequence of two
lotus petals, one large and one small, reflecting the charm of the Song Dynasty
and echoing the lotus-shaped Asian Games main venue. The flower gallery also
features poetry lights and dry flower breathing lights to enhance the atmosphere
of night tours and flower appreciation; The lucky lotus pond is designed with
multiple layers of flowing curved pool bottom and blue broken glass flooring and
utilizes the multiple refractions of water light between the glass to increase the
landscape level. The limited height of the pool creates a deep water landscape
effect, and the crystal lotus lamp further creates a dreamy night scene effect;
In the central flower border area, a fluffy and stretching lower layer is paired
with an upright spike-shaped inflorescence in the middle and upper layers,
creating a continuous and undulating hazy beauty, and also showcasing the
style of Hangzhou's lush green curtains and misty Jiangnan. Finally, the article
summarizes and reflects on exhibition park culture, exhibition park economy,
and long-term sustainability. At present, China has entered a development stage
of stock renewal, and the construction of new parks is decreasing. There is an
increasing demand for upgrading and renovating old public spaces. Asia Garden
Theme Park can maximize the use of the park's existing facilities and basic
greenery by integrating the old with the new, shortening the construction period,
and reducing costs. The Asian Flower Theme Park uses the regional landscapes
of different parts of Asia as clues to arrange plants, and express different
cultures, and is widely loved by athletes and tourists from various countries. At
the same time, the design of the garden also emphasizes the integration with
public art, increasing interactivity and night view effects, giving visitors multiple
park experiences. After the opening of the Asian Flower Theme Park, visitors
flocked and surrounding businesses flourished. The government decided to
transform it from a temporary exhibition garden into a long-term garden. In view
of this, the article suggests that the government establish a sustainable and
effective management organization to fully manage and supervise the post-Asian
Games transformation and operation of the garden, in order to continue to play
the post-Asian Games effect of the garden. |
